Giuly: PSG new boy Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of France international Ludovic Giuly from Roma.
Giuly makes PSG move Winger makes return to France
Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Roma winger Ludovic Giuly for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
Giuly, an integral but often overlooked part of Barcelona's 2006 Champions League winning side, left the Blaugrana to have what he thought would be a guaranteed starting place in a budding Roma side.
However, he made 15 substitute appearances - almost as many as his 17 starts - and did not have the desired impact in the Eternal City.
The winger has been linked with a move back to his homeland over the past few weeks, along with fellow les Bleus veterans Lilian Thuram and Claude Makelele.
While the former failed a medical due to a potentially severe heart problem that may end his career, the latter is thought to have rejected the French capital club, though his stance may yet change, as reports suggest that he is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
PSG, who barely avoided relegation last season yet won the French League Cup, will be looking to restore their pride in the campaign to come, in which Giuly, fitness permitting, is sure to play a major part.
The 32-year-old has signed for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of €3 million, on a three-year contract.
