Morgan Schneiderlin considering to leave the Manchester United
Manchester United and France midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is said to be reconsidering his future under Jose Mourinho, after failing to cement a starting spot in Manchester United’s squad.Schneiderlin, who featured 39 times under Louis Van Gaal last summer, has so far only had 5 minutes of league action this season, and is now seriously reconsidering his future at the club.
Former United manager, Louis Van Gaal, signed the 26-year-old last summer from Southampton, paying a considerable £24 million to secure the Frenchman’s services.
Morgan impressed with the Saints, spending 7 seasons at the club and playing in over 250 matches. However, this season, under Jose Mourinho, it’s clear that the midfielder will have to work much harder while chances to shine are also limited. Besides 5 minutes in the Premier League, Schneiderlin has also started in 2 of United’s matches – 1 in the Europa League, and the other in the EFL Cup.
Manchester United signed Schneiderlin’s International teammate, Paul Pogba, in a record £89 million deal this summer. And with Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick, and Marouane Fellaini all fighting for a starting spot in the United squad, Schneiderlin has very little room to mess up.
Schneiderlin, who reportedly rejected a move to Arsenal in favour of Manchester United, is believed to be wanted by Italian giants AC Milan. However, it is unlikely that Mourinho will cash in on the Frenchman during the winter transfer window, although if Morgan continues to be sidelined during the season, he could hand in a transfer request next summer. Although, the ultimate decision does lie with Morgan Schneiderlin. There certainly won’t be a shortage of clubs interested in signing him up.
