Terry To Miss Kazakh Clash

According to The Sun, England captain John Terry has been ruled out of this weekend's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan after reinjuring his back....

Terry missed training on Tuesday in an attempt to freshen up for the rest of the week's preparations, but the ploy failed miserably as he managed only 20 minutes of yesterdays practice match.

The Chelsea skipper has aggravated a back injury that reared up during last week's Champions League clash against CFR Cluj, meaning he will sit on the sidelines as the Three Lions host Kazakhstan on Saturday.

Everton's Joleon Lescott is expected to slot into the England rearguard, although either of Wes Brown or Matthew Upson could instead get the nod from Fabio Capello.

It is unclear whether Terry will be fit enough for Wednesday's fixture against Belarus. Team doctors will assess the injury over the next few days to determine whether the 27-year-old will be able to play any part in Minsk.

Emile Heskey also pulled up sore after the practice game, but the Wigan Athletic striker is expected to be fit enough to start at Wembley.
