Yakin, who represented Switzerland at several major tournaments including the recent European Championships, told BSC Young Boys about his imminent departure two weeks ago.

Now it looks like the player is about to secure the deal with Al Gharafa, which only depends on the medical exams he is to undergo first.

BSC, located in Bern, will receive around four million Euros for their 31 year old captain.

Hakan Yakin (born February 22, 1977 in Basel) is a Swiss football player.

Hakan plays in the Swiss Super League with Young Boys.

His carrier has been overshadowed by some trouble regarding his club transfers, as his engagements outside Switzerland ( Paris St. Germain, Galatasaray and VfB Stuttgart ) were not accompanied by luck.

Nonetheless he has been one of the best and most important Swiss football players for almost 10 years.

Hakan has been capped over 40 times for Switzerland and played in Euro 2004. His brother Murat Yakin plays for FC Basel in Switzerland.
