Grimi Completes Sporting CP Switch

Sporting CP have completed the signing of AC Milan left-back Leandro Grimi.

The Argentine full-back spent the second half of the season on loan at José Alvalade and had been keen to complete a permanent move to the Lions, having failed to settle at San Siro.

Sporting and AC Milan had been in negotiations for several weeks but the Portuguese club have now confirmed that a deal for Grimi has finally been struck.

The 23-year-old will cost Sporting €2,5 million, with a €25 million release clause written into the deal. AC Milan have also secured 35% of a future transfer fee for Grimi.

Sporting will be able to acquire 5% of the 35 hold by AC Milan every time they manage to qualify for the Champions League for a fee of €200,000.

Grimi has become Paulo Bento's fifth summer signing, following in the footsteps of Hélder Postiga, Marat Izmailov, Fábio Rochemback and Marco Caneira.
