Manchester United Make British Transfer Record Bid of £60m for Juventus Star Paul Pogba
New United boss Jose Mourinho is reported to have sanctioned the offer this week, as he looks to make a number of big-name signings ahead of the new campaign at Old Trafford. Pogba signed for United from Le Havre in 2009 as a teenager, but walked away on a free transfer in 2012 having failed to break into the first team set up.Pogba has since confirmed his name among the world's top midfielders while featuring for the Bianconeri, and has won the Serie A title in every season since joining.
The offer is reported to be worth an initial £48m fee, plus £12m more in add-on payments dependent on Pogba's appearances and United's success in both domestic and continental competitions. The proposed fee amounts to just slightly more than the £59.7m United paid Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria in 2014.

United though will face heavy competition for the 23-year-old, as the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in signing the player too. Real head coach Zinedine Zidane even confirmed his side's interest in Pogba earlier this week, after guiding his side to victory in the Champions League final clash with Atletico Madrid.
According the Mail, Zidane said: "He (Pogba) is a great player, every team would want to have him. But he is a Juventus player and we have to respect that."
Juventus are reported to be resigned to losing Pogba this summer, as he feels as though he has achieved all he can in Turin. Both Barcelona and United's local rivals City are expected to become active in the bidding war over the course of the summer.
