Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco wins 2015 Landon Donovan MLS MVP award
Toronto FC signed Sebastian Giovinco ahead of the 2015 season, and the Italian international proceeded to have one of the best seasons in league history. As a result, Giovinco was named Landon Donovan MLS MVP on Wednesday.The 28-year-old won the MLS Audi Golden Boot with 22 goals and led the league with 16 assists, helping TFC qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in the club's nine-year history.
In addition to the Golden Boot and MVP awards, Giovinco was also named MLS Newcomer of the Year and was part of the 2015 MLS Best XI. He also has a goal in the final of the AT&T Goal of the Year award.
Giovinco is both the first Toronto FC player and the first Italian to win the MLS MVP award in league history.
