The 26-year-old was understood to be Jose Mourinho's primary target throughout the transfer window and Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella last week resigned himself to losing his star player.
The Colombian starred for his country at last summer's World Cup in Brazil and continued his fine form into the 2014-15 Serie A campaign, scoring four goals and registering as many assists in 17 matches.
