Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock, renowned for his abrasive style, is urging his ’hard’ side to get stuck in this season and ruffle a few Championship feathers.
Neil Warnock has warned Championship sides that they will have to raise their game in order to beat Crystal Palace this season.
Former Sheffield United boss Warnock, who has relished getting under people’s skins throughout his career, told BBC London 94.9, has promised that the Eagles will be a tough nut to crack as they battle for promotion.
"I think that Palace fans know that teams that are going to beat us are going to have to earn it,” he said.
"I think we're a hard side. Let's enjoy it and let's go and put a few spokes in the wheels of other clubs."
Palace got their campaign off with a goalless home draw against Watford on Saturday, a bit of an anti-climax for expectant Eagles fans.
Warnock explained: "The first game you've just got to get it out the way. And, if you're going to have a clean sheet, that's Utopia really.
"We'll frustrate the fans at times I'm sure. There will be a few nail-biting moments and cigarette smoking, but it's better than being boring."
