33 year-old Peru international 'Nobby' Solano has signed a two-year deal with Larissa, confirmed by an official announcement on the club’s website.
The statement read: “AEL 1964 is pleased to announce the completion of an exceptional signing – where the heights of the playing career and value of the footballer confirms him as one of the biggest signings in the club’s history – with the acquisition of Nolberto Solano.
“The Peruvian international midfielder, who enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the English Premier League, agreed to and signed a two-year deal with the club.
“Late this afternoon Solano was at the club and he will complete his first training session with the team tomorrow.”
Solano will link up with Belgium international and former Anderlecht striker Mbo Mpenza, who is also a new arrival to the Alkazar this season and German defender Christian Weber, who arrived from Bundesliga relegation victims MSV Duisburg during the summer.
Larissa are managed by 39-year-old former Greece international Marinos Ouzounidis and finished 6th in last season’s Greek Super League.
