Jan Lastuvka has arrived at Upton Park on a year-long loan deal to provide goalkeeping cover for No.1 Robert Green, West Ham have confirmed.
The 26-year-old represented the Czech Republic are a variety of youth levels after starting his career in impressive form with Banik Ostrava.
However, his career has stalled since moving to Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk, from where he has also been farmed out on loan to Fulham and Bochum.
Before undergoing a successful medical, the 'keeper stated stated that he won't be content to languish on the bench behind Green.

Fellow Czech and Hammers goalkeeping coach Ludek Miklosko certainly feels that Lastuvka has something to offer in the Premiership. However, he hinted that the new-boy won't pose much threat to Green's jersey.

"He’s a decent goalkeeper," Miklosko said, "At this moment, we need a number-two goalkeeper and Jan knows he is coming as a number-two.
"I know Jan very well and he had some problems when he was at Fulham. He was on his own because, for some reason, his family didn’t come with him to England.
"He couldn’t concentrate on his football properly, but they will come with him this time. I know him and I trust him - I’m looking forward to working with him."
Upbeat Lastuvka added: "I hope that I will get into good shape overall and will be as helpful to the team as possible. So far I have had only good feelings."
