Gravesen has no Celtic future
Danish international Thomas Gravesen has no future at SPL champions Celtic, according to manager Gordon Strachan.
Gravesen signed for the Bhoys in 2006 from Real Madrid, after struggling to make an impression at the Bernabeu.
The Parkhead club offered Gravesen the chance to re-establish himself, but he was subsequently shunted on loan to former club, Everton, after failing to nail-down a first-team berth at Celtic.
However, David Moyes had limited use for the Dane at Goodison Park last season, who found himself once again unwanted on his Celtic pre-season return this week.
Gordon Strachan revealed that the Celtic system is unsuitable for Gravesen, and that he was not prepared to make concessions in order to shoehorn the defensive midfielder into his plans.
Strachan told The Daily Record: “I spoke to Thomas and told him he won't play for us because of the system we play. We tried our best to get a system which suited Thomas and it hasn't worked. It was the system to blame, not the player or the club.
"He would rather play in a system that suits him and we can't change our style of play to suit one player. Thomas has been good about it and understands the situation. It's a football thing and not a personal issue."
