Chelsea have beaten a weakened AC Milan side 5-0 in a pre-season friendly in Russia, courtesy of four goals from Nicolas Anelka and one from Frank Lampard.
The Blues took the lead in the opening minutes courtesy of a Frank Lampard free kick that was poorly defended by Milan and which somehow found its way into the back of the net.
Chelsea then doubled their lead five minutes later through Anelka who scored with a shot from the edge of the area, for his first goal of the match.
Wright-Phillips then went close for Chelsea as they completely dominated the early exchanges, before Anelka got his second, and Chelsea’s third, after an awful error by goalkeeper Kalac, left the Frenchman with an easy tap in to an empty net.
Milan, missing key players such as Kaka, Pato, Inzaghi and Borriello, had few chances in the first half and went in to the break a rather beleaguered three nil down.
It didn’t get much better for the Rossoneiri in the second half. Scolari freshened up his side at the break swapping Ballack for Deco and the former Barcelona man was involved in his side’s fourth goal. The Portuguese combined well with Malouda whose cross was headed home by Anelka for his hat trick goal.
The Frenchman then wrapped things up just under the hour mark, Malouda again finding his compatriot who converted from close range.
Scolari then took pity on Milan by replacing the four goal Anelka shortly after for Shevchenko who faced his former team but once again, was unable to find the back of the net.
Chelsea giving their best at AC Milan with a 5-0 win and also seeing anelka scoring four. One of the goal came from a blooper from the AC Milan goalkeeper.
