Torino have completed the signing of Milan starlet Ignazio Abate in a co-ownership deal.
Milan only recently purchased full rights of Abate, as Empoli had previously owned half of his contract. They then swiftly offered the flying winger a new four-year contract.
Abate had been expected to be sent out on loan for the new season, however Torino have, somewhat surprisingly, signed him on a co-ownership deal.
The blonde-haired wideman is currently on international duty with the Italy-21 national team and was today chosen in Pierluigi Casiraghi’s 18-man squad for next month’s Olympic Games in Beijing.
Abate will join up with his new Torino team-mates once the Olympics are over. His signing should appease the Granata’s star man Alessandro Rosina, who last week complained that the club hadn’t signed any exciting players.
