Ancelotti: I Want To Coach Italy

AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has openly admitted that he wants to coach Italy in the near future, while he also claims that he would like to train an African country because it “would be fun with those boys running”.

Ancelotti has never hidden his desire to coach the Azzurri one day, and many people believed that he would be in the running to replace Marcello Lippi after the 2006 World Cup.

However Carletto opted to remain in charge of the Rossoneri, and he did the same after Euro 2008 when Lippi returned to succeed Roberto Donadoni.

In an interview with La Stampa, Ancelotti admitted that he would not be against the idea of taking over from Lippi next time around.

"The idea is not to be discarded if Lippi were to leave,” the 49-year-old stated.

“I think my time will come to train a national team because it is an experience that I yearn for.

“As an Italian I hope that this national team is Italy.

“Even an African team? Why not? It would be fun with those boys running,” he concluded jokingly.
