Diego Costa Has Rejected A Big New Contract From Chelsea

On Friday it suddenly came about that Diego Costa had been dropped from the Chelsea squad for the Leicester City game after a bust up with Antonio Conte, now it seems that was after he rejected a new deal.

Costa has been in brilliant form for Chelsea so far this season, bagging 15 goals, as Conte's team have risen to the top of the table on the back of their 13 wins in a row, stopped recently by Spurs.

All seemed good in the controversial Spaniards world but all of a sudden the news came about that he'd had a falling out with his manager and that he wanted out from Stamford Bridge.

The Times report today that the Brazilian born striker actually rejected a £200k-a-week new contract deal a week before the alleged bust up and dropping from the first team.

The deal represented a £50k-a-week pay increase on his new deal and the fact that he rejected it before the current problems suggests that he really does want out at Stamford Bridge.

According to the newspaper the former Atletico Madrid striker is wanted in China and has already been contacted with a massive offer from the Far East.

Tianjin Quanjian are reported to have offered an incredible £575k-a-week and the Blues feel that offer has completely turned his head as the Chinese Super League continues to show its financial dominance.

Conte blamed Costa's back injury on his absence from the win over Leicester:

If a player in his prime playing well for the club leading the Premier League and being offered big money can be tempted by a move to China then it really is time to take it all seriously.
