Robert Lewandowski setting 4 Guinness World Records!

Kickbola.net Congratulations Robert Lewandowski on setting 4 Guinness World Records!
Bayern Munich hotshot Robert Lewandowski nets four Guinness World Records titles for goal scoring spree

Striker Robert Lewandowski’s incredible nine-minute, five-goal haul for Bayern Munich against Wolfsburg earlier this season has been officially recognised by Guinness World Record.

The Polish star was presented with four separate official Guinness World Records certificates for the incredible feat during a special press conference which took place at Bayern Munich’s ground earlier today.

Lewandowski scored five goals during the league encounter with Wolfsburg back in September, in turn breaking a series of records including Fastest Bundesliga hat-trick (3 minutes 22 seconds), Fastest Four Goals in a Bundesliga Match (5 minutes 42 seconds), Fastest Five Goals Scored in a Bundesliga Match (8 minutes 59 seconds), Most Goals Scored by a Substitute in a Bundesliga Match (5 goals).

The 27 year-old forward accepted the awards from Guinness World Records adjudicator Seyda Subasi Gemici in front of the German media at the clubs press centre. On receiving his awards, Robert said: “
The goal scoring achievement was all the more significant as Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola had opted to leave the player on the bench.

With Munich trailing one nil at half time, Robert was thrust into the action after the break and started his historic scoring rout on the 51st minute before scoring four further goals in the space of just nine minutes.

The first record he achieved was for the Fastest Bundesliga hat-trick (3 minutes 22 seconds) which broke the record by Michael Tönnies, who had scored three goals in six minutes in 1991 for MSV Duisburg against Karlsruher SC.

The next record ticked off was for the Fastest Four Goals in a Bundesliga Match (5 minutes 42 seconds) and then the Fastest Five Goals Scored in a Bundesliga Match (8 minutes 59 seconds) which was also the Most Goals Scored by a Substitute in a Bundesliga Match. This concluded his record breaking achievements and put his name in the record books and left not only Wolfsburg in a state of shock but his own manager along with watching football fans  worldwide.

At the time of Robert’s incredible achievement, Pep Guardiola was quoted saying: “I can’t really understand it. Five goals. Neither as a coach nor as a player did I ever experience something like this and I can’t really explain it.”

Since achieving these records, Robert has continued to find the back of the net, having scored 14 goals in the Bundlesliga so far this season, helping fire his team to an eight point lead ahead of second placed Dortmund, while  his five goals the Champions League have secured qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

Commenting on the achievement, Guinness World Records Editor in-Chief Craig Glenday said: “The sporting world was left in a state of shock and amazement when Lewandowski scored five goals in under 10 minutes – it was truly surreal.”

“It’s not very often you see Guardiola with his hands on his face questioning what had just happened.”

“His achievement will take some beating and is a sporting accolade worthy of entering the Guinness World Records Book.”
