transfers: Paul Pogba still 'loves' The Reds

Juventus midfielder offers Manchester United fans hopes of a return nearly three years after the France international left for Juventus.

Pogba has developed impressively at Juventus

Paul Pogba has offered United fans hope of an Old Trafford return by reaffirming his "love" for the club.

Pogba left United for Juventus in 2012 in acrimonious circumstances after just seven substitute appearances for The Reds.

Sir Alex Ferguson claimed Pogba hadn't shown United "any respect at all" and was "quite happy" to see the Frenchman leave.

Pogba has since gone on to win two Serie A titles with Juve and was named Best Young Player at the 2014 World Cup.

"I'm impatient," Pogba told FourFourTwo .

"It was the feeling I had. The coach (Ferguson) had faith in me but didn't put me on. He said that I was too young.

A New Year with Cousins

"He said 'your time will come' but it never did. It didn't come. But it does not mean I will speak ill of Manchester United. I love the club."

The turning point in the 21-year-old's United career came when Ferguson decided to play Rafael da Silva and Ji-Sung Park ahead of him in central midfield for the 2011 New Year's Eve defeat to Blackburn.

A week later, Paul Scholes was coaxed out of retirement to effectively dash any hopes the club had of retaining Pogba.

Pogba made just a further four substitute cameos despite United's well-documented midfield issues.

His agent Mino Raiola has suggested the Frenchman will leave Juve next year.
