Cousin leaves Ibrox for ambitious Hull

Gabonese international Daniel Cousin has arrived in east Yorkshire to aid Hull City's Premier League survival.

Tigers boss Phil Brown has long been in the market for strikers this summer. Dean Windass, whose playoff goal ensured top tier football for the first time in Hull's history, was perhaps deemed as too immobile for the pace of the Premier League, and Fraizer Campbell returned to Manchester United following his loan spell last year.

Despite signing Marlon King, Brown was always adamant that further firepower was a necessity, if the club are to realise their ambition of survival.

Daniel Cousin signed for Scottish giants Rangers in August last year, he went on to be a prominent figure of the Glasgow firm's forward line, and even attracted English interest by the January window. A £2million bid was rejected by then manager Walter Smith.

The Gabonese international, who has been capped 47 times, has now agreed a move south of the border and will link up with fellow Tigers this week.

Neither clubs have so far disclosed a figure.

Fraizer Campbell, who Phil Brown is still courting, is rumoured to be joining Tottenham Hotspur. A deal for Dimitar Berbatov hinges on signatures from White Hart Lane, and Fraizer Campbell is reported to be involved as a sweetener to the transfer.
