Podolski Bags Hat-Trick As Bayern Beat Urawa

A hat-trick from Lukas Podolski helped fire Bayern Munich to a 4-2 win in their latest pre-season friendly against Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds.

With Luca Toni out injured, Podolski was handed his chance to impress by trainer Jürgen Klinsmann and he certainly did that with three goals in Bayern’s 4-2victory.

Partner Miroslav Klose also found the net when grabbing the Bavarians opening goal of the game. He poked home a cross from midfielder Zé Roberto.

Podolski then added a brace- the first via a defensive mix-up and the second arrived after good combination play with Klose.

Umesaki gave the home fans something to cheer about in the 57th minute beating Michael Rensing with a low shot, but Podolski completed his hat-trick when he put the finishing touch to Zé Roberto's sublime pass with a volley from the edge of the area.

With 10 minutes to go Abe converted a fine overhead kick to complete an entertaining game.
