Hamsik Untouchable to Inter

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have made it perfectly clear to Inter Milan that midfield sensation Marek Hamsik is not for sale at any price.

Hamsik joined Napoli last summer from Serie B side Brescia and was an absolute revelation in his first season in the top flight.

He was a virtual ever-present at the heart of the Partenopei midfield, scoring nine goals in 37 Serie A games. The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young players in Europe, with a host of big teams in Europe interested in him, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter.

Hamsik recently signed a new contract at Napoli until 2013, but speculation is rife that Inter boss Jose Mourinho is set to launch a massive bid for the youngster.

On Wednesday Mourinho seemed to suggest his admiration for Hamsik, when he stated: "In Serie A there is one lad that I admire very much, he is not in one of the top teams, but I won't tell you his name."

Inter are well known to be in the market for a centre midfielder, and they are still struggling to sign primary target Frank Lampard.

Napoli, who rejected a whopping €28m offer for the player from an unnamed club several weeks ago, have told Inter in no uncertain terms that Hamsik is not for sale at any price, as they are trying to build a team capable of challenging the elite within a few years.
